Seventy-year old Sethumadhavan undertakes a journey to a hill-station. There he stays in an old bungalow. The bungalow is for him symbolic of his past, his childhood, adolescence and years of growing up. At the bungalow his mind travels down memory lane and he is taken to his early years, when he lived at the hill-station, the son of a teacher in a British School. His mind goes back to those good old days. He had as his constant companion a young girl, Paru and spent his days happily in her company.
